Welsh 1852 Hymnal.
This is pocket sized. Author of each song is abbreviated. For example, a song written by David Roberts (from Festiniog) gives the author as D.R.
Hymnbook from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS, Mormons). One of the first translated church items by Captain Jones and his brother's printing press. The operator of the press was young John Davis. John Davis' name shows up on most early church materials, including the original Welsh Book of Mormons and the membership record forms of each Wales branch.
Note: This cover was placed over the binding of another book. If you look closely at the inside cover, you'll notice the inside binding has another title (not legible from the photo). Using old book bindings helped save money on printing costs.
